Message Well for starters the Evo comes stock with a TD05-16G turbo. They would have been better off putting in a "Big"-16G. But the stock turbo is capable of 12s here at altitude.
If Im not mistaken, the STi also uses the small 16G.

The Evo uses the same drivetrain as the DSMs available now, and that drivetrain has TONS of aftermarket supporters. Far more than Subaru aftermarket providers.

The STi, has a shitty little engine mounted IC. While I dont know yet what it will be coming here with next year, as of now they have a FMIC. The front mount is the main reason they didnt ship here in the past, 5 mph crash tests, proved too expensive =)
That FMIC provides a huge advantage over the STi.

The Evo has TONS of online help already since it has the same drivetrain, etc. and has been proven over time in the consumer community, on the strip, rally courses, and road racing. The local club I started for DSMs is a great example. Check it out if you like at co.dsm.org. The WRX and STi have somewhat little support in the states right now, and there arent alot of people who know alot about the technical aspects of the STi.

Most people seem to think the Evo looks a bit better than the STi, but I think they both look kinda ugly =)

Id take the Evo over the STi, by just a hair.

Later
Josh
